Flittons Farm, Station Road

This is the farmhouse and yard, originally part of High Farm, which was owned by Hertfordshire County Council from 1909 and let as smallholdings. In 1995 the Council sold the  farmhouse, yard and three acres of land and they became a private house 78-80 Station Road. The Council retained the name High Farm, all the other land about 144 acres and a cottage at 74 Station Road, which became the replacement farmhouse.

The original farmhouse was given the replacement name Flittons Farm, by the new owners to mark its agricultural origins and commemorate Thomas Flitton, who had the farmhouse and yard buildings erected in 1836 and was resident here until his death in 1853.

In 2023 and 2024 a couple of of the barns were sold for conversion into two dwellings – one becoming 78a Station Road, the Black Barn and the other 82 Station Road, named Flints.

The earlier history of the farm may be found on the High Farm page
