This website has emerged from a project begun in 1978 to reconstruct all the families, who have ever lived in this parish. The end point was probably envisaged as one huge Steeple Morden family tree! It was driven by a desire to absorb the history of the parish through the people and their lives, rather than a more traditional history of things. After all, churches, chapels, farms, houses, pubs, schools, mills, bridges and roads do not build themselves, people do that and it is use by people that gives them life.
If you have found this website of interest or perhaps helpful for your family history, you may like to offer support by way of a financial donation? Steeple Morden History is a purely personal endeavour, with no lottery or public financing and every penny donated will go towards the cost of creating, running and growing this site. You may donate safely by clicking on the PayPal Donate button below.

Admission of Responsibility
The pronouns “we” and “our” are used on this website and this may confuse as to its provenance. I admit here that the underlying history project and this website are down to me Andrew J Pye. All errors are mine and please tell me about them.
