Census 1851

These are the actual enumerators’ schedules, completed after they had walked the parish recording all those in Steeple Morden on the night of 30 March 1851.

The parish was split into two parts, with an enumerator for each.

The first southern part was “All that part of the parish of Steeple Morden lying South & West of the Road leading from Royston to the Church including Moco, Gatly and the Heath, Flint Hall & the Railway Station.”

The second northern part was “All that part of the parish of Steeple Morden lying North & East of the Road leading from Royston to the Church including North Brook end and Brook end.”
