North Brook End Farm, Wimpole Estate

This was a significant farm within the Wimpole Estate in Steeple Morden. All its land lay in the north of the parish convenient for the large farmhouse and farmstead.

Now separated from the land and a private house.

Listed Building

Listing details: Grade II since 4 September 1986

Farmhouse. Early C18 with possibly an earlier wing, C19 and C20 alterations and additions. Timber-framed and roughcast rendered with tarred brick plinth. Plain tiled roofs. Two gault brick stacks one to east tall and square-planned. Two storeys and one storey and attic. East-west range with crosswing to west and outshut of one bay to the south. Early C20 gabled extension to north elevation with porched entrance. South elevation: crosswing with half-flipped roof; three first floor and similar ground floor hung sash windows, two hipped dormer windows with hung sashes.
